Our materials
For our mapbags, we only use high-quality materials that are produced in Europe.
This primarily includes Tyvek®, a super strong specialty paper made from plastic fibers that gives our bags strength.
Our new material Paptic® is an ecological kraft paper made from wood fibers, making some products even more sustainable.
Here, we would like to bring you closer to the differences between these two special types of paper.
Tyvek®
What is that?
Tyvek® is as thin and light as paper and feels similar too. It is made from strong plastic fibers that are processed into non-woven fabric under pressure and high temperatures. This makes our bags tear-resistant and waterproof, super robust and durable. The special paper is produced in Luxembourg. This saves us long transport routes.
Each Tyvek® already contains a recycled component and can be recycled again 100%. We are convinced of the quality, and the special feel and patina characterize our mapbags.
Paptic®
What is this?
This special kraft paper is made from 100% wood fibers, is FSC® certified, and therefore particularly sustainable. Paptic feels soft, is durable, and retains its shape even when completely wet. This means you can easily let your bag dry and reuse it if it gets wet in the rain.
The material is produced in Germany, which means a short transport distance to our sewing workshop.
It can be recycled 100% like waste paper.
